certification
The standards required for the registration of Dutch export vegetables, including onions, are regulated by the 543/2011 and 1333/2011 in the EU Regulations. The Quality Control Bureau Holland (Kwaliteits Controle Bureau Holland: “KCB”) in turn monitors these EU trading standards. KCB monitors each business partner in the Holland onion industry chain. The KCB is supervised by the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs plus the Dutch
Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (Nederlandse Voedsel- en Warenautoriteit; “NVWA”). High-quality Holland onions must be intact, solid and have unblemished skins, without any stem remnants and practically free of any root remnants. The Holland onion industry chain is able to meet specific customer requirements and is committed to meeting any specified quality factors.
